Sparking romance in the bedroom can be as simple as pre and post sex nutrition. Many foods are rich sources of natural aphrodisiacs and these recipes are designed to help strike the mood, improve stamina and ensure you’re at your physical peak.

Pre Sex: Cacao, Chilli and Rosewater Smoothie

This decadent smoothie is the perfect addition to a romantic evening. Cacao is considered a natural aphrodisiac and maca helps maintain hormone levels. The chilli also adds a touch of heat to spice things up!


1 frozen bananas

1/2 cup frozen raspberries

½ tsp. rosewater

1TBS cacao powder

2 dates soaked

1 tsp. maca powder

¼ tsp. rosewater

pinch cayenne pepper

250ml almond milk


Blend until smooth and serve. Top with cacao nibs and edible petals if desired.

Post Sex:

Replenishing energy sources and keeping hydrated is vital after sex. Oats are a great source of B group vitamins which promote energy production and spinach is high in magnesium to help muscle repair. Figs are also considered a natural aphrodisiac, which can help to inspire round 2…


1 cup blueberries

¼ cup oats

1 small handful fresh spinach

2 figs (dried or fresh)

1 tsp. cinnamon 

300ml coconut water


Blend until smooth and serve. Top with fresh coconut and edible petals if desired.
